GET LOST WITH A BOOK

Reading has always played an important role in my life, it has been one of my best entertainment and I continue doing so. But, in general, this is not the typical activity people do in his or her free time.

I love reading all kinds of books, specially, romantic and thriller books in my free time but also books related to how to teach English and new resources. I don´t mind if the book is in Spanish or English, I read it in the same way. I used to read with paper books but since I discovered the e-book, my life changed!! The reason is that I can read everything right now with the books from the library and I can choose what I really like. I usually read in my free time and I am always waiting for holidays to read more books!!

Some people might think reading is a solitary activity that will not have an impact on our social and communication skills but they are very wrong. Reading books is a form of communication, and the more we read, the better we will become at expressing ourselves. Books can teach us a lot so we will be able to share our opinions with friends. The fact that we have something to contribute to the discussion can make feeling more confident and encourage speaking up more often.

The kind of books people usually read should depend on their interests and level of language, that is the only way a person can feel motivation with reading. People, that have to read a book that someone has chosen for them, often feel frustated and I personally think that every single person should choose her/his books throughout his/her books either at school or at work.

Despite, I think that we are losing habits of reading, we don’t usually see people reading in the bus, in the park or whatever. Children do prefer playing computer games and we as teacher have the opportunity to change this aspect. First of all, we have to be an example for them and the most important, we must teach strategies to get pleasure for reading because…

“a reader today will be a leader tomorrow”

  1. I love reading! I don't understand people that don't teach their children to read! I love your blog, it's very colourful and funny. I think that it could have more content but with time you will surely improve it a lot.
